Ambassador Qu Zhe pays a farewell call on Estonian Prime Minister

On 6 December, the Chinese Ambassador to Estonia Mr. Qu Zhe paid a farewell call on the Estonian Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Jüri Ratas.

The Ambassador congratulated the Prime Minister on the successful Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. He said the China-Estonia relationship is currently in the best shape in history. Many tangible results have been achieved in trade, investment, culture, education, agriculture, health care and e-commerce. He thanked the Prime Minister for his support to the friendly relations between China and Estonia. The Ambassador stressed that China’s Belt and Road Initiative and 16+1 Cooperation have brought new vitality and opportunities to China-EU relations and bilateral relationship between China and Estonia. He hoped the two countries will seize these opportunities and join forces to bring China-Estonia relations and mutually beneficial cooperation to the next level.

Prime Minister Ratas spoke positively of the bilateral relations between Estonia and China as well as the work of the Ambassador. He said the Estonian Government attaches great importance to Estonia-China relationship. The Prime Minister pointed out that his meeting with Chinese Premier during the 16+1 Summit in Budapest was excellent and reached important consensus on the practical cooperation between Estonia and China. The documents signed between the two countries has laid solid foundation for practical cooperation in the years ahead. He said Estonia and China had strength in many areas and the Estonian side is ready to enhance cooperation with China at bilateral level as well as within in the framework of Belt and Road Initiative and 16+1 format. He hoped the win-win cooperation between Estonia and China will bring more benefits to businesses and peoples in both countries.
