"A Day of Chinese Folklore" successfully held under

8th, July, "A Day of Chinese Folklore" was held in Southeastern Estonian city Voru during the 24th Voru Folklore Festival. Appointed by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, Yun Nan Jing Xiaofeng art troupe presented colorful performance in the Chinese folklore day. Folk music, dances, costume and food of the Chinese ethnic minorities attracted scores of local residents to indulge themselves in the Chinese folk culture, landscapes and the quiz about China.

Wu Yan, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of Chinese Embassy in Estonia attended the event and had a nice talk with the mayor of Voru city Anti Allas and deputy mayor Sixten Sild who is in charge of culture, education and social affairs. Mr. Wu Yan expressed congratulations on the successful of the folklore festival, and briefly introduced Chinese folk culture to the two mayors.

Mayor Anti Allas said that this is the first time for Chinese artists group to come to Voru Folklore Festival. Hope there will be more and more culture exchanges and on the basis of it, he expects the culture exchange will promote business opportunities for Chinese investment to develop high-quality food, clean water and other good produce in Voru.

On behalf of Chinese Embassy to Estonia, Mr. Wu Yan thanked the Chinese artists for their wonderful performance and conveyed the Ambassador's greetings to everyone. He said that this kind of culture exchange helps a lot to enhance the mutual knowledge.
