"Doing Business in China 2.0" Forum in Tallinn

On September 12, the business forum, “Doing Business in China 2.0” was hosted in Tallinn by Chinese Embassy in Estonia and partnered by Enterprises Estonia . The forum is one of activities hosted by Chinese Embassy in Estonia to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The event was aimed to promote the Chinese market opportunities and business environment to Estonian business society as well as to build a platform for bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

The Chinese Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Mr. Li Chao delivered the opening speech. He introduced the great achievements made in the past 70 years since the founding of P.R.C., including those of the past 40 years since the reform and opening up. Ambassador Li hoped that the Estonian business community would seize the opportunity to develop sustainable economic and trade cooperation with China under the support of stable bilateral relations.

The Deputy Secretary General Viljar Lubi of the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication said in his speech that the development of the global economy could not ignore China. Every Estonian who wanted to enter into Chinese market should visit China by himself. Only through the first-hand experience can he have a comprehensive understanding of China.

The speakers from China Ministry of Commerce and China Customs made presentations on China's business environment and customs policies. According to the needs of local businesses, a representative from Alibaba Tmall Global were invited to introduce the development of e-commerce in China and potentials for Estonian business by cross border e-commerce. The speakers interacted with the participants upon different interests and topics. Estonian entrepreneurs who have successfully entered the Chinese market introduced their business experience in China, such as business registration, building up portals and commodity inspection/quarantine applications, etc.

The Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy Mr. Lei Jianzhong made the concluding remarks. He thanked all the speakers for their wonderful speeches and hoped that all the attendees could get some useful information from this forum. He said the Chinese embassy was always willing and ready to provide assistance to bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

The forum received positive feedback from the participants. About 120 people from Estonia's government, business, academic and research sectors participated in the forum.
