Ambassador Qu Zhe visits Sillamae

  On 19th July, the Chinese Ambassador to Estonia, H.E. Mr. Qu Zhe paid a visit to Sillamäe in Ida-Viru County.

  The Ambassador had a meeting with the Mayor of Sillamäe Mr. Tõnis Kalberg, who briefly introduced the history and development of the city. Ambassador Qu updated the Mayor with the latest development of China-Estonia relations as well as cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries. The two sides also exchanged views on local cooperation between the city government of Sillamäe and Chinese local governments.

  The Ambassador also visited the Port of Sillamäe, where he met the Chairman of the Supervisory Board Mr. Tiit Vähi and some of the board members, who presented background information and development plan of the port. Accompanied by the board members, Ambassador Qu visited the port territory after the meeting. Ambassador Qu encouraged the management of the port to make further efforts to introduce its services to Chinese business community and tap the potential of the Belt and Road Initiative and the 16+1 Cooperation so as to realize win-win cooperation with Chinese partners.
