On February 1, 2005, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council Huang Ju met in the Great Hall of the People with Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul.

Huang said both China and Turkey are old civilizations with a long history and the two peoples enjoy profound traditional friendship. Recent years have witnessed continuous development of bilateral cooperation in various fields. To enhance cooperation between China and Turkey complies with the common aspiration and fundamental interests of both peoples. China would like to work with Turkey to promote China-Turkey friendly cooperative relations to a new high.
