On February 4, 2005, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council Huang Ju met with visiting Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

Huang said that the traditional China-Azerbaijan friendship enjoys a long history. Over the past 10 years since the two countries established diplomatic ties, the bilateral ties have been developing steadily. There have been frequent exchanges of high-level visits, political mutual trust have been increasingly deepened, economic cooperation rapidly expanded, and exchanges in such humanity areas as culture and education continually consolidated and developed. China highly appreciates Azerbaijan's resolute adherence to the one-China policy and firm support for China on the issues of Taiwan, Tibet and on the fight against the Eastern Turkistan" terrorist forces.

Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan and China enjoys mutual understanding and mutual trust. Bilateral ties keep high-level development momentum. The economic cooperation is increasingly close with fruitful achievements in all cooperative areas. Azerbaijan stands ready to work with China to keep promoting Azerbaijan-China relations to new high levels.
