Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang visits Estonia

On February 17, vice Foreign Minister of People's Republic of China Mr. Qin Gang visited Estonia and met respectively with foreign policy adviser to the Prime Minister of Estonia Mr. Veikko Kala and Undersecretary of Estonian Foreign Ministry Mr.Andres Rundu.

Qin Gang updated China's prevention and control work on the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and emphasized that China was confident and capable of defeating the epidemic. "The impact of the epidemic on China's economic development is temporary. China's economic fundamentals will remain sound over the long time. We will work hard to achieve the economic and social development goals set for this year." Qin Gang noted.

Qin Gang stated that China attached importance to the development of friendly and cooperative relations with Estonia. He hoped that the two countries would work together to well arrange the exchanges and cooperation in various fields and at different levels this year and promote greater development of the Belt and Road Construction and China-CEEC Cooperation.

The Estonian side said that the Estonian government and people paid close attention to and fully supported the fight against COVID-19 in China. Measures taken by Chinese Government were very timely and effective. Estonia hoped and also believed that the situation would improve soon. Estonia was willing to keep close contact and coordination with China, further strengthen high-level exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and make more achievements through the joint construction of Belt and Road and China-CEEC Cooperation.

Chinese Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Mr. Li Chao accompanied the delegation to attend the above activities.
